When you are marginalized, humiliated, harassed or threatened for being gay, lesbian, transgender or bisexual, know that it is NOT O.K. You must take a stand! Whether it be through education, reaching out to friends, allies or the authorities. You cannot & should not remain silent.

In this turbulent & anti-LGBT environment, we need to work harder than ever by rising up & taking action. We must never back down for failure is NOT an option!

On this 1 year anniversary while we take time to reflect back on this senseless & violent act towards our community, may we become stronger together & work towards ending the violence & hate against our community.

Consider donating to your favorite LGBT organization, volunteer at a Pride march, community center, contact a legislator regarding our rights or help a fellow LGBT brother/sister who's experiencing hard times.
