Time of Uncertainty

We Are One

As we work through our emotions of the recently devastating election results of President-elect DJT, let us find comfort & strength in each other & know that we, the LGBT community have moved mountains in our struggles for equality.

We must not give up hope. Rather, we must channel our voices of anger into voices of change. Together, our voices will resonate the message through the halls of DC & America, "we are not going back!"

Looking for ways you can help?
  • Come out to a friend.
  • Come out to family.
  • Contact your local or state elected officials.
  • Contact your U.S. Senators (find your Senator here).
  • Volunteer at a local LGBT community center.
  • Consider getting involved on the political level.
  • Donate to LGBT & civil rights organizations.

We are in this together. We will do what it takes as our community is strong & resilient!
Yours in Solidarity.

Hope Against Hate

Hope

Thoughts & prayers go out to the families & friends of those affected from the horrific gay nightclub shooting in Orlando Florida this morning.

May this tragic event remind us of the power of hate & to stand up against it, for love & compassion will always find a way.

As you scour the internet, you will see some messages of congratulations for the killer of the innocent lives. That is why we still continue Pride marches as a stand against hate & for acceptance & tolerance.

This senseless, targeted violence against the LGBT community needs to stop. We need to say, NO MORE

Standing with our community in pain & sorrow.

Patching The "Black Eye"

Never An Issue

While our country deals with the rhetoric & sometimes violent campaigning to pick our next president, the downturn of our economy, abortion rights are being trampled on by a handful of states, taxes continuing to be an issue, immigration, the Republican party finds the perfect solution to dealing with the issues by targeting the transgender community after it's "black eye" from the 2015 Supreme Court's ruling of Obergefell vs. Hodges, effectively striking down the states ban on same-sex marriages.

This shameful & hatred filled tactic (disguised as religious liberties protections) against a minority group that has had to endure intolerance & discrimination in jobs & housing all the while NEVER having 1 documented case of rape or violence against any cisgender woman or child in a woman's bathroom

Transgender individuals, one's who have felt they were born in the wrong body, go through a lot of emotional stress seeking acceptance from others, often losing friends, jobs or family upon coming out. The process or "journey" is something one can often struggle with in coming to terms with. Often the more traumatic part of transitioning is that of using the restroom of their gender identity.

With current hate laws in North Carolina, Mississippi & the possibilities of Texas & Oklahoma seeking to follow suit, you can help by taking a stand against this shameful & extremely hateful tactic by the GOP by contacting your elected officials & telling them their attacks against the transgender community is just wrong. The transgender community does not want special rights, just equal right's & for the right to live with dignity.
