Hate Mongering Iowa GOP Looks For Constitutional Amendment
Des Moines Iowa - In yet another round of GOP bigotry and inequality towards the LGBT Community, the Iowa Republicans tried and failed at 2 attempts to force a Congressional vote to the floor.
But, in a new weapon in the arsenal of GOP intolerance, the conservatives have decided to look to a Constitutional Convention. Once every decade, Iowans can decide to hold a Convention by simple majority.
Conservatives believe if a Constitutional Convention were held, a vote on a Constitutional Amendment banning same sex marriage could go to the voters by a special election in 2011.
Stand with your LGBT brothers and sisters. Email - Iowa Legislators and tell them to support equality in marriage for all Iowans and that bigotry does not belong in the state's Constitution.
So, are we heading to yet another "Proposition 8 like showdown?" Stay tuned.
Keep a smile on your face and love in your heart!
