Threatened Before It Is Signed

"All But Marriage Bill" Threatened By Bigots

State seal of Washington

Olympia, Washington - Opponents of a recently passed Legislative bill granting full rights and responsibilities to domestic partnerships vows to gather signatures to put it to a referendum when the governor sign it into law.

Governor Chris Gregoire (D) recent stated, "I want to thank the Legislators who worked tirelessly to get this bill passed in the House. The Legislation will expand basic benefits, provide better financial security and ensure equal treatment for Domestic Partners living in Washington State. Our state is one that thrives on diversity. We have to respect and protect all families that make up our communities. I look forward to receiving this bill, and signing it into law."

Although Domestic Partnerships are not equal in the sense of Marriage Equality, the new protections and benefits afforded by it is a step in the right direction.

Congratulations to the state Legislators and Governor Gregoire in doing the right thing and recognizing that all families in Washington deserve rights and responsibilities.

Will Washington State be yet another "Proposition H8" battleground? Stay tuned!

Keep a smile on your face and love in your heart!
