Maine Marriage Equality Bill Gets Standing Ovation!
Augusta, Maine - A public hearing on allowing marriage equality in the state of Maine opened with a standing ovation.
Senator Dennis Damon (D) says his proposal "recognizes the worth of every man and woman among us." It is backed by 60 co-sponsors.
Currently, Governor John Baldacci (D) has stated that he is keeping an "open mind" to marriage equality where as his former views were opposed to it.
